Tip: There are several species of moths in the family, Saturniidae are frequently confused with butterflies because they are large and colorful like many butterflies. Some of these species are the Royal Walnut Moth, Imperial Moth, Luna Moth, and Polyphemus Moth. The USGS Northern Prairie Research Center provides photos of all of these species as well as life history and distribution information. Who can participate in a 4th of July Count?
