Habitat Management for Butterflies

Horseshoe Bend Preserve, Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, NJ

In 2013 members of the North Jersey Butterfly Club, in collaboration with Township officials and a local naturalist, developed a Habitat Management Plan to promote the conservation of butterflies, other pollinators, and grassland birds on Horseshoe Bend Preserve in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County. This plan may be viewed here. Anyone is welcome to use this information as a basis to develop management plans for other areas.

The North Jersey Butterfly Club welcomes the opportunity to consult directly with nonprofit organizations, government entities, corporations, and other large landowners to develop butterfly/pollinator management and conservation plans tailored to specific situations.
