PROGRAM: UPCOMING PROGRAMS: Tuesday, March 5, 7:30pm - "How Butterflies Work-and How They Survive" by Rick Cech, noted field naturalist, photographer, and author of "Butterflies of the East Coast" Tuesday, April 9, 7:30pm (Please note that this is the second Tuesday) - "Butterflies of Turkey" by Chris Williams Tuesday, May 7, 7:30pm - TBA Please send your 2012 butterfly sightings to Jim Springer (springer@naba.org) for publication in The Pearly Eye, our annual field report. Please start the subject line with NABA-NJ Butterfly Sightings. Please include the species, county, location, observer(s), date, number, and any other relevant comments like behavior, age, etc. Your oral reports at a NABA meeting should be followed up in written form.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: In the event of inclement weather which might lead to the cancellation of a NABA meeting, members should call Wade Wander (973) 271-0204 or one of the other officers listed above. An email message may be sent if the meeting is cancelled, but THIS MAY NOT ALWAYS BE POSSIBLE. Your best bet is to call if you don't get an email message (or if you don't have email.) Our monthly meetings take place on the first Tuesday of each month (except November when it is the second Tuesday) at 7:30 p.m. at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum's Haggerty Education Center, 53 East Hanover Avenue, Morristown, NJ. (973) 326-7600. Directions are given on this web site. For all who would like to join us at the pre-meeting dinner each month, we meet at "Frank's Pizza" which is just inside the Morris County Mall past the Foodtown. If you come inside the mall by the MacDonalds, keep walking past MacDonalds and bear to the right. Frank's Pizza has a large Italian style menu so you're not relegated to just pizza (though the pizza is good.) You do have to bring your own wine or beer however. The Morris County Mall is on the east side of Ridgedale Avenue just north of the junction with East Hanover Avenue. We meet about 6:00 PM. Hope to see you there! By the way in case you forget to BYOB, there is a liquor store a few minutes, about four traffic lights, north of the mall on Ridgedale Ave. (That's toward Route 10, not Morristown, in the center of Cedar Knolls.)
