1. Meeting started with some short announcements by Pres. Pat Thomas. Muriel Shirey's family has requested that donations be made to NABA-NC for a memorial butterfly garden to be planted at the Hartley Nature Center. Anyone interested in participating in the planning of the garden please contact Pat. 2.The garden seminar in Minong, WI (Saturday) has butterfly gardening as a topic. 3. NABA member Dave MacLean presented a talk on "Butterflies of China." Dave traveled to China and Hong Kong (June 16-July 4, l993) as part of the Citizen Ambassador Program's Lepidopterists Delegation. Thanks to Dave we saw some beautiful butterflies of that area and other butterfly objects. Dave promised to return and give a talk on species of concern in the Superior National Forest. 4. In June Dave and Pat will co-teach a class on butterflies at the North House School in Grand marais. Please see their web site for more information, under Northern Ecology Classes. 5.
