Butterfly count - July 27th

2nd Tuesday of the month:
July 9, 2002 6:30pm
NOTE: we will meet at the home of (President) Pat & John Thomas 6219 E. Superior St, Duluth

Pat will give us an informal tour of their yard.
We will also tour 1-3 other yards of butterfly gardeners in the area.
An additional night of tours may be scheduled if time runs short.

Sign up sheets were passed around. Pat wanted to know who was interested in various field trips and butterfly counts.

Tom Kasper gave a presentation on butterfly photography. He discussed types of cameras, zoom lenses, and picture taking techniques. His whimsical style of producing slide pictures from his collection of butterflies, gave us a comparison between mediocre and captivating full lens great shots. Tom has taken a plethora of slides of butterflies and his patience has paid off. The black swallowtail slide was one of the best.

Regular meeting concluded after Tom's presentation and the Zoo committee stayed to discuss future dates.
