On about 13 hours notice, 12 members of the Mass Butterfly Club met in Woburn to follow up on the sighting on the previous day of an ‘Olive’ Juniper Hairstreak by Garry Kessler and Howard Hoople. Some brought serious hardware because the previous day Garry and Howard had been limited to long-range shots of the Juniper in the top of a red cedar with relatively short-range cameras. It took a while but a single Juniper sighted and soon surrounded by the twelve of us, documented by Marj Rines on her iPhone camera. But we all took turns, and got the photos we hoped to. And through it all the Juniper held its ground, moving around the little group of pussytoes, but never leaving the area, and possibly becoming the Most Photographed butterfly of the young season.
