Occurrence   Statewide except perhaps Berkshire County - resident
Abundance Locally common in eastern MA; much scarcer in western MA; max. 2000+
Flight Period June 21 - August 23 (mainly late June to early August)
Notes Always associated with Scrub Oak; sometimes flies in great numbers
