Usually good numbers of Spring Azures, American Coppers, Pearl Crescents, and Little Wood Satyrs, different Duskywing species, and other June species. Meet in the parking lot at Fessendon Field. Because of abundance of poison ivy at Eastern Point, long pants are recommended. We will then go to Waring Field in Rockport, where we last year had over 1000 Silver-bordered Fritillaries. At the light at the end of the exit ramp, turn left (north). Bowling Alley is about ½ mile on the left. Massachusetts Audubon Society Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Worcester. 5:30 p.m. Potluck Dinner. 7 p.m. Annual Meeting, followed by the evening program and member digital or slide images. Mike Nelson, Invertebrate Zoologist with the Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program will speak about the program and how it affects our state butterflies and their relatives. Mike will focus on our special concern species.
