Group 1: This group did the driving/walking route that starts on Forest Service Road 15 near Blue River Reservoir, proceeds past Mann Creek and Wolf Meadows, then turns onto Roads 2650 (Frissell Ridge) and 1506, passing through the H. J. Andrews Experimentral Forest.
Time spent: 7.17 hrs: 10:10 am - 5:20 pm
Weather: 65 - 75° F, full sun, wind 0 - 10 mph
The members of Group 1 were Alison Center (co-leader), Lori Humphreys (co-leader), Dave Stone, Ellie Ryan, John Egan, and Bonnie Richman (recorder).
Group 2: Starting from the trailhead at the end of Forest Service Road 35, this group hiked to the peak of Iron Mountain and returned. Some members (David Hagen, Dennis Deck, and Magnus Persmark) hiked beyond the meadow and spotted 3 Great Arctics.
Time spent: 5.5 hrs: 11:00 am - 3:30 pm for 7 counters, and 4:30 for 3 counters
Weather: 60 - 75° F, full sun, wind 0 - 15 mph
