BEST-NABA
Welcome to our online home!
We are BEST, the local chapter of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA), an international, non-profit organization. Like NABA chapters all across the continent, we work to increase public enjoyment and conservation of butterflies, by focusing on the joys of non-consumptive, recreational butterflying including; listing,  gardening, rearing, conservation and photography.

NEWS!

International BEST Butterfly Field Trip

The first International BEST butterfly field trip is rapidly approaching.  The trip will begin on Saturday 8th in McAllen Texas and return on the Wednesday 12th.  The all inclusive trip will begin at the Drury Inn where a bus will pick us up and transport us into the Sierra Madres Occidental in Northeastern Mexico.  We will be checking out butterflies around the El Cielo Biosphere Reserve.  It will be a great opportunity to see some really exotic bugs and also the birding is awesome.  This group has put this together at our request and it is open to all and we have invited others not in our club to join us.  So, it is also an opportunity to met others with like interest.

Our group will be lead by the highly reputable Sonia Ortiz.  It is the same folks that put on the butterfly and birding festival each year.  It is a great experience for all.  It will be a field trip that you will treasure for years to come. Check out the website and you can also register online.
